Archaeology walks

There are many features of archaeological interest throughout the island.
Walks on request are available every Friday from May to September (inc.)
and we can work out a route depending on your interests and ability.

The Heritage Trail is an excellent place to
experience some of the island’s key sites
of prehistoric significance; from the magnificent
Setter Stone - a 4.5 metre monolith, weathered
into its current form over 5 millenia, to Vinquoy
Chambered Cairn - a restored Maeshowe - type
tomb, built from Red Eday Sandstone.
,

Every Wednesday the Ranger guides a
walk along the Heritage Trail.

Meet at Mill Loch Bird Hide at 12pm
